Please read carefully and completely before inquiring about my sale rabbits. If there are any questions in regards to this policy, in whole or part, please feel free to contact me at bragglionheadfarm@hughes.net I will be happy to discuss them with you. I reserve the right to alter or change any portion of this policy at any time without any prior notification.
This policy is intended to outline my terms and is in place for the protection of my rabbits and my rabbitry.
Terms & abbreviations used on this site:
"Price Quote" A price quote is just that, a quote. If you contact me about a 2-week-old kit and I quote a price that kit and I am asked to hold the kit for an additional 2-4 weeks to see how it develops before placing a deposit, I am not obligated to offer you the kit for the original quoted price. The only way to "lock in" any quoted price, is to place a deposit at the time the quote was given. If you pay a deposit on a quote price and decide that after a few weeks the kit is no longer what you expected, then I will be happy to refund the deposit.
"Available"- This rabbit is for sale.
"Inquiry"- Someone has expressed an interest in this rabbit and is awaiting a deposit.
"Hold"- A non-refundable 50% deposit has been received.
"Sold"- This rabbit has been paid-in-full and is awaiting pickup or delivery.
First and most importantly I am in this for the love of the breed and second is for bettering my own breeding program. My rabbits are more than just a hobby to me, they are my babies. All my rabbits are loved and are handled daily. They are well groomed, cared for and pampered, I do expect the same or better treatment when they arrive at their new home. This is not a business venture for me, nor do I mass breed or run a bunny mill. I am breeding towards a goal and my prices are what I consider to be fair. My prices are, for the most part, considerably lower than what some may sell rabbits for and my pricing does not have any bearing on quality, or should I say, lack of quality. My pricing is based upon what I would expect to pay, have paid, or what I am willing to pay for any rabbit from another reputable breeder of the same variety, type, gender and quality. Note, paying high prices does not always guarantee that you will get a quality animal, no matter who you buy from or who's lines are involved.
I take my own photos, please keep in mind that I am not a professional photographer, but I do my very best in taking quality pictures of all my rabbits usually in a posed state, not all rabbits are cooperative all of the time, so keep this in mind. I do not enhance my photos, with the exception of cropping and sometimes framing them for use on my site. I update photos of my breeding stock frequently. Junior rabbits are photographed more often to show development and growth.
As far as sales go, I am breeding primarily for my own needs and while I maintain a small herd, I am not able to keep large numbers, at any given time, so occasionally, I will offer rabbits for sale. These sale rabbits will be a benefit for a breeding program or may be show potential stock. Keep in mind that I only offer rabbits that I can not keep or use in my own program.
I am breeding for my own show and breeding stock, although I will not list any sale rabbit as "show quality" as I am not able to justify such sales. I will list rabbits as "show potential" and will guarantee them to be free of any obvious disqualifications or genetic defects at the time of sale. Show potential means just what it says, it does not guarantee a rabbit will show and win. Brood quality will be free of any obvious genetic defects at the time of sale. All rabbits sold for show or brood will come with a full, 3-4 generation pedigree.
I have a "no kill" rabbitry. The only time rabbits are "put down" is in the event of illness or debilitating injury. I occasionally have and will list, pet quality rabbits for sale, they are sold "as is" without a pedigree (as is means there are no guarantees as to genetic defects or flaws). Please note that pet quality rabbits are intended to be pets and are in no way to be used for breeding purposes, which is the reason that they are sold without a pedigree. I encourage spay and neutering of all pet quality rabbits. With this said, buy and breed responsibly and be honest in you buying intentions. If you are looking for brood or show potential stock, buy brood or show potential stock. There is nothing to gain, by you , the breed, or the breeder you purchase rabbits from by breeding inferior rabbits. I do not breed for pet quality, but everyone gets those from time-to-time no matter how good a breeding program is.
I reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone.
I reserve the right to price rabbits accordingly. Prices on available rabbits are subject to change as a rabbit develops.
I require a non-refundable deposit to hold any rabbit. The deposit amount is 50% of the cost of the rabbit. I will not hold any rabbit without a deposit in place!
Deposits are to be paid either through Paypal, which a fee of 3% will apply to cover the costs that Paypal charges me to accept your payment, or I will accept a Postal Money Orders.
I reserve the right to remove any rabbits listed as "available" from my sale page if I feel that they are not developing as I had expected them to, or I simply decided to keep them a while longer. I also reserve the right to increase the price of any rabbit until such time that a deposit has been placed on said rabbit.
Once an inquiry is made, you will have 5 days to get the deposit to me, at such time of waiting for the deposit, the rabbit will be marked as "inquiry." Only after the deposit has been received, will the rabbit be placed on "hold" status. If the deposit has not been received on or before the 5th day, the rabbit will be re-listed or is subject for removal from sale list all together.
I do not ship my rabbits, so do not ask. I will however, as long as space allows for this, deliver rabbits to shows that I plan to attend as long as a 50% deposit has been paid prior to that show. Any balance owed is payable"in cash" at time of delivery to that show. In the event of a third party or proxy pick up, the rabbit must be paid for in full before delivery will be made. If I am to meet you, a gas fee WILL be applied.
Once a deposit is received, I will only hold the rabbit for 7 days, unless other arrangements have been made at time of inquiry, as I do not have space to hold for undisclosed periods of time. If after 7 days the rabbit is not called upon or picked up, I will see this as a forfeit and you will not be entitled to any refund of your deposit. This policy also applies to trades as well. Without a definite date of arrangement for pick up, I am not obligated to hold rabbits!
Once you arrive to pick up your rabbit, I encourage you to look the rabbit over thoroughly before taking "actual" possession. This is your first "hands on" experience with the rabbit, where you can actually see, touch and feel instead of just seeing it in a photo, so if, there are any questions or concerns, this is the time to address them. After your inspection and you are completely satisfied with the rabbit, please understand that once a sale has been completed, I do not give refunds, for any reason. I will offer a replacement only in the event that illness or death would occur within 5 days and I am at fault.
Please note: I reserve the right to cancel any sale before it is completed, if it becomes necessary for me to do so. Ex: The rabbit would become injured or would die while still in my care. If I cancel the sale, for any reason. I will promptly refund your deposit 100%.
If you are under the age of 18, you will need to have a parent accompany you at the time of sale.
~Guarantee~
Once a rabbit leaves my rabbitry, I have no way to know, "for certain", that the rabbit will actually receive the proper care, nutrition, living accommodations and attention that I have provided while at my rabbitry, so, with this said, I will not offer any refunds, for any reason. Replacements only will be given in the event of illness or death and I am at fault.
All of my rabbits "are" healthy and are free of parasites, ailment, disease or illness , prior to and at the time of sale.
I will replace any rabbit that would happen to change gender. Sometimes it does happen. If I sell a doe and that doe turns out to be a buck, or vise-versa I will replace it.
I routinely worm 3 times per year. Losses within my own rabbitry are almost non-existent, with the exception of an occasional peanut, fader or an occasional baby that may die at birth and I attribute these low losses to good sanitation within my rabbitry.
I guarantee only my own stock against genetic defects up to 6 months of age and will replace any found to have a defect that would render the rabbit useless for the purpose of which it was intended. I do not guarantee another breeders stock against any defects, as this is beyond my control. I make no guarantees to the breed-ability of any rabbit I sell, nor can I guarantee that any "unproven" doe will be a good mother, as there are too many factors, human & animal, that can play part in such a guarantee. This is a breed in development and although I breed for manes that will last, it is impossible to guarantee at this point and time.
I offer a 5 day replacement guarantee against illness or death. Death or illness must have been attributable to something I caused and the ill rabbit and the original pedigree that accompanied the rabbit must be returned to me before any replacement shall be given. I reserve the right to fully inspect the rabbit before giving a replacement. Any costs involved in the return of the rabbit and/or pick-up of the replacement is the sole responsibility of the owner/buyer.
I will not replace any rabbit that would become ill or would die due to, but not limited to, any the following:
*Was dropped or mishandled
*Was overdosed/improperly or unnecessarily medicated
*Has been neglected/abused
*Suffers breeding complications/issues or was bred to young
*Is/was improperly housed (which can cause illness and death)
*A sudden diet change, inappropriate diet, or bad feed
*Injury, death or stress due to harassment or attack from another animal or person
*Exposure to prolonged heat or extreme cold
*Exposure to sick rabbits at shows or exposure from travel to or from shows, or at your residence
In the event of illness or death, I recommend and prefer email for correspondence, as email allows printable documentation that a problem existed and how the problem was handled and/or corrected.
~REPLACEMENT AVAILABILITY~
Note on replacements: Replacements will be for same sex and quality as the original rabbit. Ex: I will not replace a pet quality rabbit with a show potential rabbit or brood quality.
There are times when I will not have replacement rabbits immediately or readily available, as I do not mass breed. Hopefully, the need will not arise to ever have to offer a replacement, but since rabbits are living creatures, there is always that possibility. In the event that it would become necessary to provide you with a replacement and there are not any available at that point and time, you will be placed as a priority in getting a replacement to you as quickly as possible. Once a replacement becomes available, I will notify you by email, you will then have 7 days to respond and/or to make arrangements to pick up your replacement. Any costs involved with the transport or delivery of your replacement is the buyers sole responsibility. Failure to call on or pick up your replacement within the 7 days is considered a forfeit.
If at any time the need arises to surrender a rabbit that you purchased from me directly, I will accept the rabbit back as long as the rabbit is in good health. Please note, that I do not buy back rabbits, but will gladly help re-home them for you.
